WHAT TO BRING
1. Warm clothes i.e.: coat, sweatshirts, flannel shirts, thermal
underwear, warm sweaters, warm hats, and gloves, I like the wool
fingertip-less ones, as they allow for better dexterity and warmth as
well. Clothes' layering is recommended since you can always take items off
if you get too warm.
2. Rain gear i.e.: boots, coat w/hood and pants. Alaska gets a lot of rain
in the early spring and summer months. Temperatures average from the low
40's to the low 70's and everywhere in between. So come prepared.
3. Cameras and binoculars, (D&M has a pair of binoculars on board the
ORCA, but you may have a pair you prefer).
4. Lunch (unless your trip includes lunch which only includes one drink,
so you may want to bring more), snacks, soft drinks or juices, we don't
disallow alcohol but neither do we encourage it, as it impairs good sense
and attention spans.
5. Your fishing license, these may be obtained in any number of places,
grocery stores that sell bait and tackle, sporting goods stores or
sections in department stores, such as Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and Fred Meyer.
Most all convenience stores on the Kenai Peninsula.
6. If motion sickness is a concern of yours, several over-the-counter
remedies are available in the above stores. Or you may choose to get a
prescription from your family physician before your trip.
7. Personal items.
